At Maxwell TEC, strong relationships are at the heart of everything we do. For Hunter Sorensen, VP of Sales, that means listening closely, learning continuously, and connecting people with the expertise and resources they need to move forward. With seven years of experience and a career built around relationships, Hunter brings a people-first approach to his work with leaders across the care at home industry. Whether he's helping a client navigate a challenge, connecting them with a subject matter expert, or learning from an industry leader himself, Hunter believes the best outcomes start with genuine connection and collaboration.

A Career Built on Learning and Mentorship
Hunter credits great mentors early in his career, beginning in college, with helping shape the way he approaches professional growth today.
One lesson in particular has stayed with him: if you want to learn from someone or become more like the people you admire, you have to be willing to approach them.
"Can I have a minute of your time?"
For Hunter, that simple question represents something much bigger—the willingness to put yourself out there, ask questions, and learn from others.
He believes knowledge is never static and that the most successful people are lifelong learners who continuously seek new perspectives, experiences, and ideas. That mindset continues to influence how Hunter approaches his work at Maxwell TEC.
Today, he has the opportunity to work alongside some of the most knowledgeable experts in the care at home industry, viewing every conversation as an opportunity to learn something new and bring that collective knowledge back to the clients he serves.
The Connector Behind the Conversation
As VP of Sales, Hunter's role goes well beyond selling solutions. At its core, his work is about building relationships with leaders throughout the industry, understanding their challenges, identifying opportunities, and connecting them with the right people and resources.
Hunter describes himself as a "Connector."
Sometimes that means bringing in a Maxwell TEC subject matter expert. Other times, it could mean connecting a client with a member of the leadership team, a strategic partner, or another organization that has successfully navigated a similar challenge.
His approach starts with listening.
Rather than simply telling clients what Maxwell TEC offers, Hunter focuses on understanding what's most important to them and then finding the right resources to help make a meaningful impact.
For someone who genuinely enjoys meeting new people and building relationships, it's a role that fits naturally.
Building Relationships That Last
For Hunter, successful client relationships are built on more than a single conversation. Genuine connection and consistent follow-through are what turn customers into long-term partners.
"When people know you truly care about their success—and you demonstrate that through your actions and communication—it builds trust, credibility, and lasting relationships."
Hunter doesn't believe he needs to be the smartest person in the room. Instead, he focuses on understanding client needs, finding the right answers, and connecting clients with the people and resources that can help them succeed.
Showing up. Following through. Putting the client's best interests first.
That commitment has been the foundation of the partnerships Hunter is most proud of.
His Advice: Listen More, Learn More
If Hunter could offer one piece of advice to someone new to the home health and hospice industry, it would be simple: talk less and listen more.
And yes, he recognizes the irony.
Hunter admits that people who know him well might laugh at that advice because he enjoys talking. But the principle behind it is something he genuinely believes in.
You don't have to navigate the industry alone. Some of the fastest growth comes from asking questions, seeking advice, and learning from people who have already been where you want to go.
For Hunter, success comes down to two things: knowledge and relationships.
He makes a point of attending conferences, leadership forums, user groups, and networking events because he consistently walks away with new ideas, new relationships, and a fresh perspective.
His philosophy is straightforward: if you're willing to listen, learn, and connect with others, you'll continue growing throughout your career.
What Hunter Is Seeing Across the Industry
Through his conversations with clients, Hunter is seeing a growing focus across home health and hospice on optimizing and centralizing intake and quality functions.
Both areas play an important role in an organization’s operations. Intake sets the stage for the patient’s journey, while quality helps ensure documentation supports compliance, reimbursement, and timely billing. For larger organizations, centralizing these functions can improve visibility, create greater consistency, strengthen accountability, and help ensure the right people are handling the right tasks at the right time.
But according to Hunter, creating an optimized model is only part of the equation. The bigger challenge is sustaining those improvements over time.
Leadership changes, shifting priorities, and new team members can gradually introduce changes to established processes, impacting the consistency and efficiency an organization has worked to build.
That’s where Hunter sees an important role for Maxwell TEC. The focus isn’t simply on designing better workflows—it’s on helping organizations implement, adopt, and sustain those improvements through change management, governance, and ongoing operational support.
For Hunter, the real measure of success is making sure optimization delivers lasting value, not just short-term results.
Collaboration Makes the Difference
Of Maxwell TEC’s core values, Collaboration resonates most with Hunter. He believes the best solutions come from bringing together different perspectives, experiences, and areas of expertise. After all, no one person has every answer, especially when tackling complex challenges in the care at home industry.
For Hunter, collaboration is just as important in the way Maxwell TEC works with clients as it is within the team. The strongest partnerships come from taking the time to understand a client’s goals, working alongside their team, and developing solutions that fit their unique needs rather than taking a one-size-fits-all approach.
To Hunter, collaboration is more than a value—it’s an essential part of creating meaningful results and building partnerships that last.
Beyond the Job
Outside of work, Hunter has always had a creative and entertaining side. In another life, he could have seen himself as a singer, actor, or comedian. He enjoys making people laugh, bringing energy to those around him, and connecting with others.
At one point, he even considered becoming a gaming content creator, drawn to the idea of building a community around something he enjoyed. While he ultimately chose a different career path, that same love of connecting with people and keeping things engaging still comes through in who he is today.
And when he's not working, Hunter is still an avid gamer. It's one of his favorite ways to unwind, challenge himself, and spend time with friends.
Connecting People, Ideas, and Opportunities
Whether he's talking with a client, learning from an industry leader, or collaborating with his Maxwell TEC teammates, Hunter approaches his work with the same philosophy: listen, learn, connect, and follow through.
His ability to build relationships while connecting people with the right expertise and resources makes him a valuable part of the Maxwell TEC team—and reflects the collaborative, people-first approach that helps our clients move forward.
